Gwen Erin Brown

Gwen Brown is the owner (dyer/spinner/knitter/felter/weaver) behind Gwen Erin Natural Fibers.

Although she has no formal artistic training, crafting has been a part of her life since she was a child. In addition to fiber arts, Gwen also enjoys cooking, sewing, and camping.

The business began in 2006 with a holiday craft show and just a few handknit fingerless mitts. After discovering the joy of working with individual wool breeds, Gwen started searching out unique fleeces from local farms. Wanting to share this love of wool with others, she decided to focus on providing hand-dyed breed-specific wool in several different forms: combed top, locks, and roving. Her dyeing process has always been very unscientific. She has never used recipes, but prefers to let the colors flow however they will. She began selling at fiber shows in 2010 and has traveled to New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan and three out of the four corners of Ohio. At the end of 2016 her business took a new turn as she moved from working out of her home to having a brick and mortar shop. This has allowed her to expand into a wider range of products.
